22) D

Number of GPs in 1994 = 27500 ≈ 28000
Percentage working part time = 12% ≈ 10%
Number working part time = 10% 28000 = 2800
Total working hours = 10(28000 – 2800) + 5(2800) = 252000 + 14000 = 266000

Number of GPs in 2004 = 31250 ≈ 32000 (not exactly a correct estimation but we need good figures)
Percentage working part time = 25%
Number working part time = 25% 32000 = 8000
Total working hours = 10(32000 – 3200) + 5(3200) = 288000 + 16000 = 304,000

Percentage difference  = (304000 ÷ 266000) x 100 = 114.3%
This its an increase by 14% which is closest to a rise of 10%.

You must remember that we have always rounded up the figures in our calculations. Therefore, we must round down the final answer.
